For the Baltimore Ravens to make their defense work, they need lockdown cornerbacks who can survive one-on-one. Humphrey is the type of player who unlocks that side of the ball for Baltimore, allowing the defensive coordinator to be more aggressive with blitzes, trusting that Humphrey will hold up.
In the 2017 NFL draft, there were five first-round cornerbacks selected, Marshon Lattimore, Humphrey, Adoree’ Jackson, Gareon Conley, and Tre’Davious White. While that’s an excellent group, you can easily make the argument that Humphrey is the best of the bunch.
Through his first seven years in the league, he has been named to three Pro Bowls and was a first-team All-Pro in 2019. In 2024, Humphrey will still be just 28 years old and he already has 13 interceptions and 13 force fumbles.
