Recapping the Final Weekend of Summer Official Visits for Alabama Football
Speaking of Five Star Recruits
Dijon Lee is one of the best players in the country yet, in the recruiting rankings he trails behind a few players the Tide hosted this weekend. This week, USC lost a commitment from Justus Terry, the Nation's 7th-ranked player. After reopening his commitment, Terry immediately booked a visit to Tuscaloosa canceling his visit to USC. The Tide seemingly made a strong impression this weekend and may jump into the race against in-state Georgia.
On the Offensive side of the Football, no recruit was a higher priority this weekend than, five-star receiver Caleb Cunningham. Heading into the weekend the Tide were seemingly long shots to land Cunningham as in-state Mississippi State seemingly had a stranglehold on the recruitment while Auburn was pushing hard. Following the visit, however, the Tide may be the team to beat as On3's Recruiting Prediction Machine gives Alabama a 32% chance to land Cunningham. The Tide landed a crystal ball prediction from On3's Director of Recruiting as Cunningham said the Tide moved to the top of his list.
This weekend the Tide also picked up multiple crystal ball predictions to land five-star offensive tackle Ty Haywood. Going forward, Haywood says he'll be focusing on Alabama, Oklahoma, and Florida State but, Alabama is certainly in the driver's seat for the lifelong Tide fan.
Finally, The Tide hosted five-star receiver Kaliq Lockett on an official visit this week and the Texas Native left the weekend blown away saying he may have a new leader in his recruitment when asked about the Tide. Keelon Russell will play a massive factor in landing Lockett as the pair have discussed teaming up.
