Several former Alabama football players put together short tribute videos to congratulate legendary head coach Nick Saban in a segment that was aired by College Gameday on Saturday morning. The field at Bryant-Denny Stadium will be officially named "Saban Field" in a halftime ceremony during the Crimson Tide's matchup with USF tonight.

Nick Kelly, a beat reporter for the Crimson Tide with al.com, posted the video on X for everyone to see:

The video was kicked off by appearances from a pair of former Heisman Trophy winning running backs. Current Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry, who scored the first touchdown of the 2024 NFL season on Thursday night, and Saban's first Heisman winner and long-time pro Mark Ingram also spoke.

Former All-American linebacker and 10-year pro Dont'a Hightower was up next. Hightower is now the ILB coach for the New England Patriots after retiring from the NFL after the 2021 season.

The video was finished by two-time first team All-American Barrett Jones, who helped lead the Crimson Tide to three National Championships during his tenure in Tuscaloosa.

The Gameday crew was in the middle of their "Grab Bag" segment where they randomly generate topics to discuss. On the final spin of the wheel, an image of Bryant-Denny Stadium popped up and Rece Davis ran the video of the players congratulating Saban.

Saban spent the morning in Ann Arbor, Michigan on the Gameday set, and will now fly back to Tuscaloosa for tonight's festivities.

Stadium should be named for Saban. Stadium should be named for Saban. dark. Next
