  • No. 6 Missouri Tigers (1-0) - Previous Ranking No. 5. The Tigers beat Murray State 51-0. Only the slightest edge has Missouri ranked above Oklahoma. Next up for Missouri is another joke opponent; Buffalo in Columbia.
  • No. 5 Tennessee Vols (1-0) Previous Ranking No. 7. In the 69-3 win over Chattanooga, Nico Iamaleava looked every bit of a potential superstar. No wonder the Vols reportedly spent $8M on him. Next up for the Vols is NCSU in Charlotte.
  • No. 4 Ole Miss Rebels (1-0) Previous Ranking No. 4. A 76-0 win over Furman does not count for much, but 76 points cannot be ignored. Next up for Ole Miss is MTSU in Oxford.
  • No. 2 TIE Alabama Crimson Tide (previous ranking No. 3) and Texas Longhorns (previous ranking No. 2) Both teams are 1-0. Alabama beat Western Kentucky 63-0. Texas beat Colorado State 52-0. The Tide and the Horns are very good teams, with no clear separation between them. Next up for Bama is South Florida in Tuscaloosa. Texas goes to Ann Arbor to take on Michigan.
  • No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs (1-0) Previous Ranking No. 1. In a 34-3 win, the Bulldogs defense made Clemson look like a mid-tier Big 12 team or worse. Georgia may be beatable this season, but after Week One, Georgia is the class of the SEC, and it is not close.
