  • No. 5 Ole Miss Rebels (2-0) - Last week No. 4 - Jaxson Dart is college football's No. 1 rated passer. Like Missouri, Ole Miss has faced no real football team, so their blowout scores are irrelevant. They may be better than No. 5. Next up for the Rebels is away to Wake Forest.
  • No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide (2-0) - Last week tied at No. 2 with Texas - Given the team ranked No. 3, moving the Crimson Tide to No. 4 pains me. I remain bullish on Alabama, as are respected computer models. But too much went wrong against USF for a higher ranking. Next up for Alabama is away to Wisconsin.
  • No. 3 Tennessee Vols (2-0) - Last week No. 5 - I refuse to elaborate on the strengths of the Vols, but they have some. North Carolina State was perhaps overrated, ranked last week by the Coaches Poll at No. 23, but Tennessee's 51-10 beatdown was impressive. Next up for Tennessee is college football's worst team, Kent State in Knoxville.
  • No. 2 - Texas Longhorns (2-0) - Last week tied at No. 2 - A dominating win in Ann Arbor has Texas competing for the nation's No. 1 ranking. They are worthy of being in contention. Next up for Texas is UTSA in Austin.
  • No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs (2-0) - Last week No. 1 - I don't see much separation between the Bulldogs and the Longhorns. The Georgia defense is fearsome. Next up for the Dawgs is Kentucky in Lexington.

dark. Next. Alabama Football, Invincibility, and SEC Honeymoonds. Alabama Football looks less than invincible, and honeymoons in Auburn and Lexington might be over.
