Every year it is said that SEC Media Days are the unofficial start of a new SEC football season. That unofficial start is now. The 2024 version of SEC Media Days is being held at the Omni Hotel in Dallas, TX.

There is always a media throng, and with the addition of Oklahoma and Texas, numbers will swell more than ever this July. It all kicks off Monday morning with opening remarks by SEC Commissioner, Greg Sankey. Following Sankey on Monday will be LSU and Ole Miss. The Alabama Crimson Tide contingent will not hit the stage until Wednesday. A complete schedule is included below.

The biggest star of SEC Media Days will again be Nick Saban. ESPN and the SEC Network will lean on Saban's knowledge of not just Alabama but of the entire SEC. Saban is expected to get airtime each day of the four-day event.

Before the event concludes SEC media will make their annual prediction for the SEC winner. As Michael Casagrande reminds us the media is often wrong, "From 2009 through 2019, we whiffed on eight of those 11 years -- five in a row to start that run." During Saban's long run in Tuscaloosa, he often reminded SEC media of their poor prediction record. With the GOAT now a media member, it will be interesting to see if he makes the point again.
