College Football 2025 Falling Stars

  • Dabo Swinney - Clemson Tigers - Dabo was right about one thing this week. He said most of the players in the Transfer Portal are not good enough to play for Clemson. Clouding that truth is that Dabo added zero transfer players this cycle. and there were many good enough to improve the Tigers. His old-school attitude will not serve him well in 2024 and his No. 3 ranking will drop more than a few spots a year from now.
  • Brian Kelly - LSU Bengal Tigers - Kelly is a proven top coach and his No. 4 ranking is justifiable. But unless LSU makes a big defensive improvement, life in Baton Rouge will not be as much fun without Jayden Daniels, Malik Nabers, and Brian Thomas Jr. LSU will not implode but three and maybe four regular season losses could occur. At 9-3 and not making the Playoffs, Kelly's ranking will drop next year.
  • Luke Fickell - Wisconsin Badgers - Fickell is ranked No. 17 and given the progress he made at Cincinnati, a top 20 ranking fits. The biggest problem he had last season at Wisconsin was unrealistic expectations. By 2025 he will likely turn Wisconsin around, but after 7-6 last season, the Badgers may lose five or six again and Fickell's ranking will fall.
