Who are the announcers for Alabama Football game vs USF?
Alabama Football plays host to the USF Bulls on Saturday night in Tuscaloosa, and there will be familiar voices on the announcing crew for the game.
The Crimson Tide will play on ESPN for the 2nd week in a row with kickoff coming at 6pm CST. Last week, Dave Pasch was the play-by-play guy as Alabama dominated Western Kentucky 63-0 in Kalen DeBoer's debut as the Crimson Tide's new head coach.
This week, Joe Tessitore will lead the broadcast as the play-by-play man. He will be joined in the booth by former Florida Gators QB Jesse Palmer as the color analyst, with Katie George doing the sideline reporting.
Tessitore is one of the most well known play-by-play announcers in sports. Of course, Alabama fans will be hoping that the Tess Effect won't come into play. Tessitore has been on the call for plenty of innocuous games that turned into thrillers and/or massive upsets.
One of the more famous examples of the Tess Effect actually went in Alabama's favor. Tess was on the call for Iowa State's upset of Oklahoma State in 2011, a result that directly led to Alabama getting into the BCS National Championship Game and ultimately dominating LSU in a rematch to claim the 2nd of six National Championships of the Saban era.
Palmer played for the Gators from 1997-2000 before a short stint in professional football gave way to a long broadcasting career as a color analyst.
Katie George has worked for ESPN since 2021. Prior to that, she was a former collegiate volleyball star for the University of Louisville.
