Who are the announcers for Alabama Football game vs. Wisconsin?
Alabama Football heads to Madison on Saturday to take on Wisconsin as part of FOX's premier broadcast, "Big Noon Kickoff." After two straight weeks playing under the lights at Bryant-Denny on ESPN, the Tide takes to the road for the first time in 2024 and switches networks in the process.
Calling the game will be the usual "A-List" Fox squad of Gus Johnson on play-by-play, Joel Klatt as the color analyst, and Jenny Taft as the sideline reporter.
Johnson is known for his dramatic, voice-raising calls, at times even during the most innocuous moments of the game. Johnson last called a Crimson Tide game two years ago, the last time Alabama played a game in FOX's Big Noon Kickoff time slot.
That game was a thrilling 20-19 win for the Tide over Texas, with Will Reichard hitting a game-winning field goal with under a minute to play. Believe it or not, Alabama was an even bigger favorite in that game, closing somewhere around 21-point favorites depending on where you looked. Alabama is currently a 16.5 point favorite over the Badgers, per FanDuel. A repeat of that game would do little to quell the early-season anxiety in the fanbase.
Of course, Texas used that close loss to Alabama as a springboard into a three-win improvement from 2021, and then beat the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa last season on their way to a berth in the College Football Playoff.
Joel Klatt didn't exactly endear himself to the Crimson Tide faithful when he spoke on Colin Cowherd this week and mentioned he thought there was a legitmate path to victory for the Badgers. Of course, Klatt works for FOX and it is his job to entice viewers to watch. If the casual viewer believes going in that Alabama is going to win by 30+ points, then less eyeballs will be on the screen.
