Why Alabama Football should have little trouble with Wisconsin
The first road trip is always interesting every season for Alabama just to see how the team functions on the road. There are quite a few younger players who will play on Saturday, so there is always a concern of how they will function in a hostile environment. Camp Randall is known for being a raucous atmosphere over the years, but this is nothing new for Alabama. The older players have experience on the road at LSU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and of course Auburn, so there is nothing that should shock them on Saturday when it comes to the atmosphere of the stadium.
When you look back at recent road losses for the Tide it involves going up against the likes of Hendon Hooker and the mobile Jayden Daniels. Despite showing great potential two years ago while at Miami Tyler Van Dyke is far from being Hooker or Daniels. He isn't mobile at all, and doesn't have the offensive line that either of those teams had. Even looking at last year's loss to Texas, Quinn Ewers had a performance of a lifetime and there is no evidence that Van Dyke will be able to duplicate that or has the skill players to pull off the big home game upset. The struggle win against USF may be the biggest enemy of the Badgers as there is no chance Alabama comes in unfocused.
With that being said the quickest way for Alabama to guarantee victory is to get the crowd out of the game early. Home underdogs who pull off big wins historically are able to keep it close late, which gives the team confidence and keeps the crowd into the game. A quick start for the Tide will be key in ending the home stadiums' hopes of pulling an upset early. A few quick scores as well as getting off the field on defense on third down will be huge early in the game, and as long as that happens there is little doubt in my mind Alabama not only covers the spread, but also makes sure there is no late drama that we saw last week. This should be a good statement win going into the bye week before the massive end of the month matchup against Georgia.
