Despite it being one of the longest weeks ever for Alabama fans, take a breath and relax. Fans have every right to be mad and disappointed about the performance from the top down in Tallahassee. We were all under the impression, based on how the summer and fall camp went, that everything was going to be back on track and be much closer to what we have become accustomed to. It is far too early to go into full panic mode because there are 11 more games. The season is a marathon and not a sprint.

Remember, Kalen DeBoer isn't Nick Saban, so there is no reason to keep comparing his every action to Saban's. If he were the exact same as it would take away from the GOAT mystique. Also, it isn't 2010 anymore, so all the yelling Saban is known for from his early years on the sideline in Tuscaloosa isn't returning. Even Saban had toned it down quite a bit by the end of his tenure. There are many who will never accept DeBoer because they think his connections to the West Coast make him soft. In today's world, that is a terrible mindset for a fan to have.

Of course, the easy answer is just to move on from this coaching staff, but that just isn't reality. We don't even need to talk about the buyout to know that moving on right now would be a terrible mistake. Panic hires never work out, and remember, despite the long list of possible replacements for DeBoer, they have to agree they want to come to Tuscaloosa. It never makes sense to replace a coach unless you are confident the next one is going to be a better fit. Also, what coach would want to come to a place that fired a coach after just 14 games?
