How sweet it is! For the first time since 1999, the Alabama Crimson Tide will be playing in the Men's College World Series. This year may have been a bit of a grind for Rob Vaughn and his team, but the No. 7 Crimson Tide, fittingly, became the seventh team to punch its ticket into Omaha. They are joining West Virginia, Troy, Ole Miss, Georgia, North Carolina, and Texas in the College World Series.

Even wilder, Alabama just became the first school in college sports to accomplish this amazing feat!

Alabama athletics sent all five of its major revenue sports teams to their biggest tournaments of note.

  • Men's College World Series
  • Women's College World Series
  • Men's March Madness
  • Women's March Madness
  • College Football Playoff

Athletic director Greg Byrne must be so ecstatic for Alabama to be winning like this in revenue sports.

Kalen DeBoer's football program was the first of the quintet to check the box. Nate Oats and Kristin Curry's basketball teams got it done back in March. After seeing Patrick Murphy's softball team get to Oklahoma City only a few weeks ago, all eyes were on Vaughn's baseball team to make this dream a reality. It is only fitting Alabama has become the first school to achieve this greatness over one year.

Georgia came so close, but did not make it to Oklahoma City on the softball side of things this spring.

Rob Vaughn puts cherry on top of an incredible Alabama athletics season

With seven of the eight spots in the Men's College World Series having already been decided, Alabama fans may be overly anxious to see who the Crimson Tide will play next. No. 7 Alabama has been put into Bracket 2 with No. 3 Georgia and No. 6 Texas. While the Bulldogs and Longhorns will face each other first out of the gate, Alabama will take on the winner of No. 15 Kansas vs. Oklahoma.

Overall, Alabama fans have to be so incredibly elated over what just transpired. They have every reason to party like it is 1999 now. Even if Byrne is one of the very best in the business, it is so insanely hard to be this good at all five major revenue sports at the same time. Clearly, Alabama is way more than just a football powerhouse. It is a place where champions in all sports are forged.

Ultimately, Alabama will have to grind it out to survive the gauntlet that will surely be Bracket 2. It is a double-elimination tournament in both brackets of note, but the one North Carolina is in is so easy... While UNC has been to Omaha more recently than every other team in the field, it will still be an entirely new group of teams this season. That will make this year's College World Series so enticing.

At this time, Alabama fans have every reason to let everyone know how great its sports teams all are.
