Ryan Williams will have to be a factor in the SEC Championship Game for Alabama

One thing I am certain about is that Ryan Williams will have to be a factor on Saturday if Alabama wants to beat Georgia in the SEC Championship Game. It was very noticeable Williams not getting any targets or being on the sideline in key moments in the Iron Bowl, but it is imperative that he is involved in the offensive game plan in Atlanta. He is far too talented not to touch the ball, and it is up to Ryan Grubb to get him involved in the offense one way or another.

I will be the first to admit his sophomore season has been a little disappointing, considering some of what we saw from him as a freshman, but obviously the talent is still there.

I do not think he will have to have as iconic a performance as he did last year against Georgia, but it is important that he has some big-time catches against the Bulldogs on Saturday. It is a reason Williams was recruited so heavily by the Tide before and after Nick Saban's retirement, and also why he has made so much from NIL money. He can flat-out ball, and I expect him to show why he is still the best receiver on this team from a talent alone aspect.

We know when he is on, he can put on a show, and that is needed more than ever, considering that Josh Cuevas is likely to miss his second straight game.

The drops have been somewhat frustrating at times, and it does not help that Ty Simpson struggles with his deep ball, but this offensive staff is smart enough to get him involved early on Saturday. Some positive plays early will get his confidence up and will pay dividends in the long run for the Tide's offensive game plan against the always tough Georgia defense. Honestly, without Ryan getting touches in Atlanta, I am not confident that Alabama can beat this Bulldogs team for a second time this season.
