The bye week that kept on giving for Alabama fans

I always feel a little lost when the Crimson Tide is on a bye, but this indeed was the bye week that kept on giving for Alabama fans. We got to witness all the messiness in Baton Rouge, which also led to the Athletic Director position opening up after some intervention from the governor. LSU is now in need of filling the Head Coach, the AD, and the president position as well. There is always some theatrics around the Tigers, and it will be an interesting month and some as they fill these positions. For now, this has been a very comical series of events from an Alabama perspective.

Keeping on the comical series of events, and that is the entire Hugh Freeze tenure that came to an end after an ugly 10-3 loss to a bad Kentucky team. Auburn is now making payments to Gus Malzahn, Brian Harsin, and Freeze. On top of that, they will be searching for another head coach to bring into one of the most chaotic programs in America. It will be interesting to see what route the decision makers go on the Plains, but there are a lot of issues, as we all know. It is crazy to think that this proud program hasn't had a winning record since 2020 and honestly, with how people meddle behind the scenes who will be comfortable coming to take over this program?

Then, to close out the weekend, we got to see Tennessee's chances of making the playoff come to an end at home to an Oklahoma team that seemed to have run into a wall. Honestly, it was a little shocking as the Sooners had not really looked good since John Mateer's injury. That huge road win in Knoxville keeps OU's playoff chances alive and adds more intrigue to the game in Tuscaloosa next weekend. Now all I can really ask for is for Disney and YouTube TV to get their issues figured out before Saturday Night.
