Former Alabama QB Jalen Milroe was once thought of as a potential Top 10 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, but late season struggles with the Crimson Tide and an up-and-down performance at the Senior Bowl saw his stock slipping more toward the 2nd and 3rd round range, at least according to the majority of the experts.
But on Sunday, news broke that the NFL had extended an invite to Milroe to attend the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay and that the former Crimson Tide star had accepted.

In most years, that wouldn't be all that newsworthy. This year, however, the NFL has taken steps to reduce the number of invitees to the green room to cut down on the awkward moments of prospects having elongated wait times and even having to come back for day two because they weren't selected in the 1st round.
This year, the NFL is only inviting 8-10 players into the green room in Green Bay for this month's draft. With Milroe being one of those players, it sure seems like the NFL believes his draft stock to be much higher than the experts believe. To me, it signals that Milroe is likely going to be selected in the 1st round of the draft on April 24th.
Where are the realistic landing spots for Jalen Milroe?
Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders are the consensus top two quarterbacks in the 2025 class, but there's been an opening for the No. 3 QB spot. Experts have tried to fill that slot with guys like Jaxson Dart, among others, but it certainly seems like the NFL believes that guy is Jalen Milroe instead.
Quarterbacks are over-drafted every year because it is the most important position in the league. Milroe has a ton of potential, and while he might not be ready to play this year or next, he might have the highest upside of any QB in this class.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have seemingly been enamored with Milroe and could be his landing spot at No. 21. The night before Alabama's Pro Day, Mike Tomlin and Pittsburgh brass wined and dined the Tide QB.
Teams inside the Top 10 who have a need at QB like the Browns, Giants, Raiders, and Jets might not be willing to use that high of a pick on Milroe, but they could ultimately circle back by trading back into the 1st round later on to select him.
In any case, it looks like Milroe is trending toward being picked in the 1st round. He would become the fourth consecutive starting QB from Alabama to become a 1st rounder, joining Bryce Young, Mac Jones, and Tua Tagovailoa.
