There probably wasn't a player who meant more to Alabama last season who received less praise from the national media than Robbie Ouzts. The NFL took notice, however, and Ouzts found himself selected at the end of the 5th Round by the Seattle Seahawks with the 175th overall pick.
Ouzts didn't put up big numbers at TE. Instead, he was utilized more as an H-back and primarily used as a blocker. His impact didn't show up in the stat sheet, but if you turned on the film, Ouzts was constantly making blocks to spring big plays in the running game. Case in point, via Cole Cubelic:

Ouzts only caught 16 passes in his career. He caught a career-high eight for 108 yards and two touchdowns as a senior. He has solid receiving skills, but it's his ability as a blocker that made him intriguing for NFL scouts. It appears the Seahawks plan to use him as a fullback:

Ouzts is a throwback kind of player. He's also more athletic than he's ever gotten credit for. At the combine, his vertical leap measured at 34". That was the highest vertical for a TE weighing 270+ pounds in over 20 years.
It's not a sexy pick, but don't be stunned to see Ouzts carve out a long NFL career.
Ouzts will join Alabama teammate Jalen Milroe with the Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks added a pair of Alabama players in the draft. In the 3rd Round, they took a swing on Tide QB Jalen Milroe, a polarizing player with major upside but obvious bust potential. He'll sit back and learn from Sam Darnold while likely having a dedicated package of plays his first season or two.
Milroe will have company joining him in the Pacific Northwest, with Ouzts being drafted by the Seahawks in the 5th Round.
It's clear with the moves the Seahawks have made this offseason that they want to move back toward being a power-running type of team. They struggled up front last year and relied too heavily on Geno Smith's arm. With Milroe and Ouzts coming to town, there's two pieces that can drastically improve the ground game in Seattle.
Ouzts becomes the sixth Alabama player selected in the 2025 NFL Draft, joining Tyler Booker, Jihaad Campbell, Jalen Milroe, Malachi Moore, Que Robinson
