Don't be surprised when you hear Kadyn Proctor's name called much earlier than NFL Draft experts have expected next month.
Proctor drew rave reviews at Alabama's Pro Day on Wednesday, and that comes on the heels of a strong showing at the NFL Combine and significantly reduced weight that should put him in a much better spot at the next level.
While some might view Proctor as a guard in the NFL, his combination of size and movement will have teams dreaming of him as a franchise left tackle. And that could see him go as high as the Top 10, something that seemed unrealistic after an up-and-down junior season in Tuscaloosa.
ESPN's Field Yates was in Tuscaloosa for the Alabama Pro Day, and he heard rave reviews for the three-year Tide starting LT. He's going to be busy making visits over the coming weeks, but the first one might be the most intriguing. According to Yates, Proctor is scheduled to visit the Kansas City Chiefs later this week, who are desperate to upgrade their protection for star QB Patrick Mahomes.
Alabama OT Kadyn Proctor had a lot of people buzzing here at pro day. His movements skills during the on-field drills were exceptional. And you could hear the sound of him hitting the bags from the opposite side of the field.

Kadyn Proctor's visit with the Chiefs could signal he's going to be a Top 10 pick
While the Chiefs do hold two picks in the first round following the Trent McDuffie trade, Proctor isn't likely to be in play at pick No. 29. That means if Kansas City is bringing him in for a visit, it is eyeing him with the No. 9 pick.
That's a massive development for Proctor, who entered the pre-draft process as a fringe-first-rounder. His tape wasn't always pretty at Alabama, but it's hard to argue with his raw physical ability and tools. NFL offensive line coaches are going to see him as someone built in a lab to be molded into a franchise player on the offensive line.
To all his faults, Proctor was a unanimous All-American and won the SEC's Jacobs Blocking Trophy as the best offensive lineman in the conference this past season.
Proctor's stock is on the rise, and his new floor might be the 17th pick to the Detroit Lions, who have seemed enamored with the Alabama product during the draft process. At this point, Detroit may have to explore moving up to land him.
