The Alabama Crimson Tide will not sneak up on any 2026 opponent. Every opposing team will anticipate a tough game against Bama. But unlike the situation Alabama enjoyed for so long, few of the Tide's 2026 opponents will consider Alabama as their toughest game.
The above conclusion is based on the toughest game rankings provided by sites including Fly War Eagle, Vols Wire, and other team-focused sites.
The one clear exception is not an SEC opponent. It is Florida State. According to FSU Wire, the toughest game for the Noles will be Alabama, tougher than ACC opponents Miami and Clemson.
In two Georgia sites, Alabama is rated by one as the Bulldogs' toughest game. The other site rated the Crimson Tide behind Ole Miss as the toughest Georgia game.

- Tennessee Vols - The Third Saturday in October has perhaps lost some shine. The Alabama game in Knoxville is rated as the Vols' fourth-toughest game, behind Texas, Texas A%M, and Georgia Tech.
- Kentucky Wildcats - The coldest cut of all comes from a Kentucky site, UK Wildcats Wire. Alabama is rated as the Wildcats' fifth-toughest game of the 2026 season.
Toughest games rankings are somewhat skewed, with road games usually considered tougher than home games. Alabama football fans would be best served not to overreact, but when a Tuscaloosa Iron Bowl is rated as the Tigers' fourth-toughest contest, it is hard not to be troubled.
