This Alabama team has a lot of things to figure out before heading to Knoxville

There is no way easy way to say this but there is a lot for this Alabama team to figure out before heading to Knoxville. After one of the most embarrassing losses in program history and to respond like they did against South Carolina is troubling. Despite the win it seems like anything other than a win, especially that this was supposed to have been the easy part of the October schedule.

The defense was a little better against the Gamecocks, but again couldn't get off the field when it mattered all Saturday afternoon. I am not one to often get overly critical with the coaches, but when will Kane Wommack start making adjustments?

The fact that this team gave up 12 points in less than two minutes to end the first half, and then not being able to end the game cleanly after the Germie Bernard touchdown to give the Tide a 27-19 lead is near mind boggling. Yes, this team was resilient enough to come back from a 19 to 14 deficit, but why were we even in that situation.

Another Saturday of penalties and the most inopportune times, turnovers, and not being able to get off the field again on third down is seemingly becoming who this team is.

It is time for this team to put up or shut up. We heard all week about how much better things would look against South Carolina after the Vanderbilt loss, and it was anything but that.

I am still trying to figure out why the Crimson Tide didn't build off the momentum of the successful first drive of the game. They seemed to coast for most of the game almost as though showing up as Alabama was enough to win the game.

All I know is if this team plays anything like they have the last nine quarters it is going to get ugly in Knoxville. We will see how this coaching staff and players bounce back after a second straight frustrating Saturday afternoon.
