I know it' is still the middle of October, but already it feels like this might go down as the greatest college football season of all time. From Week 0 until now we have seen some great things every week from Georgia Tech beating Florida State to Vanderbilt knocking off Alabama two weeks ago.

With NIL, the transfer portal, and the 12 team playoff field there seems to be a new excitement for the sport and with that comes a lot of new faces at the table. Some of the usual suspects aren't guaranteed to be in the playoff field and for the casual fan living on the East or West coast it may be refreshing.

Just last Saturday we in the prime time window we got to see both SEC games going to overtime while Ohio State-Oregon came down to the last play of the game.

Just the fact that Indiana, Army, Navy, BYU, Pitt and Iowa State are currently all undefeated going into Week 8 tells us how great of a season we are having. Currently every Power 4 Conference is currently wide open and the current front runner in the Heisman Trophy race is a running back from Boise State.

By the end of this season we possibly could have quite a few two loss teams in the 12 team playoff field and I don't think anybody has even fully processed how big playoff games being played on college campuses is going to be. The quietest time on campuses during the Winter Break is going away forever for certain locations and if you like the atmosphere in Happy Valley or Baton Rouge in the regular season, wait until a playoff game is played in either location.

Every week means now means more than ever and we are just getting started.
