Traditional polls with little added love for the Alabama Crimson Tide

In the updated traditional polls after college football's Week 9, the Alabama Crimson Tide only moved up slightly. In the AP Poll and Coaches Poll, Alabama moved up one spot to No. 14.

There was no change in the rankings of the top six spots in the Coaches Poll. The top six are Oregon. Georgia, Penn State, Ohio State, Miami and Texas. In the AP Poll, the top four are unchanged with Oregon, Georgia, Penn State, and Ohio State. Miami moved up one spot to No. 5 in the AP Poll, as Texas dropped one spot to No. 6.

Eight SEC football teams are ranked in the top 25 of the two traditional polls. The Georgia Bulldogs are No. 2 in both polls. Texas is No. 6 in the Coaches Poll and No. 7 in the AP Poll. The Tennessee Vols are No. 7 in both polls. Texas A&M is No. 10 by the AP votes and No. 11 by the coaches. Below the Alabama Crimson Tide (No. 14 in both polls) are LSU (No. 16 in both polls); Ole Miss (No. 18 by the coaches and No. 19 by AP); Missouri (No. 23 by the coaches and No. 25 by the AP).

In the 'Others Receiving Votes', the Vanderbilt Commodores are No. 26 in the AP Poll, and No. 29 in the Coaches Poll. The Arkansas Razorbacks are No. 31 in the AP Poll and No. 35 in the Coaches Poll. South Carolina, with one vote, reached No. 34 in the AP Poll.

Alabama Crimson Tide not a big mover

The biggest mover in the AP Poll was LSU, dropping eight spots after its loss to Texas A&M. In the AP Poll, Illinois and Missouri dropped four spots; Notre Dame and Texas A&M moved up four spots.

LSU was also the biggest mover in the Coaches Poll. dropping nine spots. After losing to the Alabama Crimson Tide, Missouri dropped six spots. The biggest upward moves in the Coaches Poll were Washington State, up six spots; and Memphis up five spots to No. 25. Texas A&M and the Pitt Panthers up three spots.
