This is a moment that Alabama football quarterback Ty Simpson is never going to forget. Leading up to kickoff on Saturday, all everyone was talking about was how Georgia was going to take down the Tide and how Kalen DeBoer was going to be facing a ton of pressure once again.
Nope. Instead, Alabama just posted a thrilling 24-21 victory over Kirby Smart and the Dawgs. When DeBoer needed Simpson to come up with a big play, the veteran QB was there to deliver for him. This is indeed a special night for Simpson and he was over the moon while talking with Holly Rowe right after the final whistle.

"Credit to my teammates," Simpson said. "My teammates stepped up big time. All of our guys, I couldn't do it without them. I'm so proud of this team. I told them before the game it's Alabama against the world. When we walk out there (the field), we're gladiators and this is The Coliseum and they played like it."
If that message from Simpson doesn't give you chills, we're not sure what will. This was a complete and total team effort. It felt like a 15-round heavyweight matchup between the two SEC powerhouses. Georgia had multiple opportunities to tie this game up, but the Bama defense stood tough.
With the game on the line late in the action, it looked like maybe UGA was going to get the ball back with one last chance to even things up at 24-24, or potentially take the lead. However, offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb called a brilliant misdirection play and Simpson hit running back Jam Miller on the money to close things out.
On the night, with everyone watching, Simpson completed 24-of-38 pass attempts for 276 yards and two touchdowns. Again, when DeBoer needed him to deliver, Simpson did just that and this is a victory he's going to cherish for quite some time.
