The Alabama Crimson Tide has hit a home run with their latest commitment. 4-star running back EJ Crowell has made his decision to stay in the state of Alabama and play football for the Crimson Tide in college. Crowell is highly ranked in the Class of 2026 as the No. 33 player in the class, the No. 2 running back in the class, and the No. 3 player in the state.

Crowell chose Alabama over the other school in the state, beating out the Auburn Tigers yet again, but also chose the Crimson Tide over fellow SEC rivals Texas and Georgia. Crowell made his official visit to Alabama just last weekend, and with it being his final official visit on his schedule, it seemed the Crimson Tide did a great job closing the deal.

Some announcements for where players are committing can be very high energy with prospects faking out the crowd, or do a really big show of something, while some just pick a hat and then hug their family. Crowell did a mix of both as he chose Alabama by selecting the hat off the mannequin and then jumping around, hugging his family, dancing, and just truly celebrating his choice.

EJ Crowell committing to Alabama was a long time coming

Growing up in Alabama, Crowell was always a Crimson Tide fan. Watching the team win championship after championship, and then receiving an offer in just his freshman year of high school was a dream come true for the elite running back.

Crowell was a very sought-after prospect in this recruiting class, and while he was being wooed by school after school, he always knew Alabama was the place he was going to play football. He knew from the moment he received an offer in his freshman year of high school. Crowell even said that Texas was his second choice, followed by Georgia and Auburn.

This is a huge commitment for Alabama and gives Kalen DeBoer and the Crimson Tide the No. 11 recruiting class in the country, according to 247Sports. Crowell marks the 12th commitment for Alabama in this recruiting cycle.
