Aden Holloway can now make his way to Chicago.

Early Friday morning, a judge granted Holloway's request to travel out of state. Holloway's attorney filed a request to the court on Thursday night that Holloway be allowed to leave the state of Alabama beginning on Friday, March 27th, and returning on Tuesday, March 31st.

Does that mean Holloway is going to be able to play on Friday night for Alabama against No. 1 seed Michigan?

Probably not.

Alabama already ruled out Holloway for the Sweet 16 with its official availability report, which was released on Thursday night. Per NCAA rules, the Crimson Tide could face up to a $10,000 fine if it plays a player listed as out.

Aden Holloway's status with Alabama basketball remains unclear despite judge ruling

At last word, Holloway was still suspended from the team - and school - following his March 16th arrest on felony marijuana charges. His suspension was pending a review by the school's student conduct board, but whether a decision on that has been made yet or not is unclear.

In any case, Holloway's permission to travel doesn't likely change his status for tonight's Sweet 16 matchup. He hasn't practiced with the team since his suspension, and Alabama has found a good groove without its star guard.

The Crimson Tide put together back-to-back impressive NCAA Tournament performances in wins over Hofstra and Texas Tech to get to the Sweet 16. The bigger lineup with Latrell Wrightsell at the two and Amari Allen at the three has provided a tremendous lift on the defensive end of the floor, and Alabama knocked down 19 three-pointers in the 2nd Round against the Red Raiders, even without Holloway.

Playing him now makes little sense, but it certainly sounds like the junior guard will make his way to Chicago to at least cheer his teammates on from close by.
