Will Kendrick Law play against South Carolina? Alabama updates availability report
Kendrick Law missed Alabama's last game against Vanderbilt after suffering a lower body injury against Georgia. Law's availability for Saturday afternoon's contest with South Carolina has been updated with the release of the SEC's student athlete availability report.
Law's status, as well as Kobe Prentice, Yhonzae Pierre, and others was revealed in the report.
The SEC now mandates that these availability reports get posted Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday before league games, with a final report coming 90-minutes before kickoff.
Head coach Kalen DeBoer has been tight-lipped about the real availbility of his players. Prior to the Georgia game, the first time the Crimson Tide released an availability report for the 2024 season, Qua Russaw, Jeremiah Alexander, and Richard Young were all listed as probable. By the time the final report was released on Saturday, all three players were listed as "game time decisions."
I say that to say - take these with a grain of salt. There's always going to be some gamesmanship between coaches.
Alabama's availability report for South Carolina
- Yhonzae Pierre - OUT
- Kendrick Law - Questionable
- Kobe Prentice - Questionable
Both Kendrick Law and Kobe Prentice being questionable leaves a void at WR for Alabama if neither are able to go. After Prentice's injury against Vanderbilt, several players got opportunities, including freshman Caleb Odom.
Yhonzae Pierre had some sort of surgery this week, but DeBoer wouldn't say he would be out any more than ths just this one week.
South Carolina had a much more extensive availability report:
- WR Jared Brown - OUT
- DB Kelvin Hunter - OUT
- OL Jakai Moore - OUT
- DB Jalewis Solomon - Doubtful
- DT DeAndre Jules - Doubtful
- DB O'Donnell Fortune - Probable
- WR Dalevon Campbell - Probable
- WR Vandrevius Jacobs - Probable
The next update will be Thursday night around 7pm CT.
