It’s the first day of fall camp for Alabama and Nick Saban is already in mid-season press conference form. It’s good to be back y’all.
Before we get to the press conference I just want to point out that Nick Saban just said Alabama’s defense can be “sneaky good” in an interview today. Oh lord, I’m feeling tingly in all the right places!
Raheem Falkins is out and there’s no clear timetable for his return.

Saban is as disappointed in the players as usual.
Saban: We had players get cramps while practicing inside today. That tells me you didn't prepare yourself well.

A little clarification on the Bo Scarborough issue.

I am very excited to see Kenyan Drake back on the field.
Saban doesn’t sound pleased with his unauthorized biography.
Saban on the "Saban" book: I'm opposed to an unauthorized biography. One of these days I'll write an authorized biography.

Saban says he will write a full biography telling the whole truth when he’s done at Alabama. I hope this book is a very, very long way off.
Saban: Since I'm not finished YET, at Alabama, I'm not ready to write a book.
— Aaron Suttles (@AaronSuttles) August 6, 2015
Oh come on, do you really think Saban took the time to read the book?
If only he'd gone ahead and told us exactly what he thinks the author got wrong. Alas, he said he's done talking on that subject.

Up with Saban haters, down with Saban fans I wouls assume.
Do sales go up or down for Monte Burke's book after Saban public opposition? https://t.co/DPiRw5Re9l

Overall it was a classic Saban press conference where he seemed to be annoyed at the press and a little annoyed at the team. I can’t help but think that he also seemed a little glad to be back at it though.
We’ve made it through the offseason, football is right around the corner. The team is back on the practice field and the boss is back in the saddle. I can’t wait to see what this team does. Does anyone else get a very 2009 feeling from this squad?
