Check out these great Lane Kiffin moments and then try to say you won’t miss having Kiffin on the Alabama sideline.

It broke this morning that Lane Kiffin has coached his final game on the Alabama sideline. Word came out that Kiffin would not be joining the Tide in Tampa next week for the National Championship Game.

While Alabama had an extraordinary amount of success with Kiffin calling the plays on offense, many of his best moments came off the field. Let’s review five of Kiffin’s most iconic moments.

Flips visor to Tennessee fans

Turns out Lane Kiffin isn’t a very popular guy in Knoxville. After leading the Vols to a 7-6 record in 2009, Kiffin left after only one season to take the USC job. Tennessee fans didn’t react very well, even trying to name a local water treatment facility after Kiffin.

This year, undefeated Alabama headed to Knoxville to face the one-loss Volunteers. Tennessee fans always think that this year is their year, but in 2016 the preseason hype had really gotten out of hand. If you ask them, the Vols had already won the SEC by the start of fall camp in August.

After losing a heartbreaker at Texas A&M, the Vols came home looking to break a 10-year losing streak against the Tide. Alabama didn’t get the message. Kiffin’s Alabama offense ran for over 400 yards and hung a 49-10 defeat on Tennessee.

Tennessee fans can’t have been saying nice things to Lane on his way out of the stadium, but he was unbothered. He even tossed his visor to an orange-clad hill person as a souvenir.
