FLORIDA vs. FLORIDA STATE
THE CASE FOR FLORIDA:
Florida went through some hard times when they hired Auburn’s new defensive coordinator to be their head coach, it just wasn’t the same Gators we are used to seeing.
It might seem like the days of Tim Tebow and Urban Meyer were a long time ago, but in reality it was just a few years past. Florida used to be our regular rival for control of the SEC. They were once the great eastern power to rival us coming out of the west.
Now they have a former Bama offensive coordinator as their coach, and perhaps those days of dominance are returning. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to hate McElwain like I did Meyer though.
THE CASE FOR FLORIDA STATE:
Florida State appears to be the Auburn of the ACC. Alabama’s history with FSU hasn’t been very extensive. The only game Bama played with FSU was taken away by the NCAA.
Florida State will finally get the wish of their fans and Danny Kannel in 2017 though when they face Alabama in the season opener. Lord knows it will be nice to shut #FSUTwitter up. (I realize that nothing, not even a win will ever shut #FSUTwitter up.)

LSU vs. OKLAHOMA
THE CASE FOR LSU:
LSU is the other titan of the SEC West… aren’t they? I have to start to doubt that LSU is still a titan when they charge the field after a win over Ole Miss. I don’t care how highly Ole Miss is ranked, you don’t charge for Ole Miss.
The hat has suffered a couple of down years in Baton Rouge, can he make a rebound? Can LSU once again make the Alabama game meaningful? Or has the LSU rivalry run its course with only one sided hate from the corndogs based on their Saban envy?
THE CASE FOR OKLAHOMA:
It’s not that I hate Oklahoma so much, it’s that I hate what Alabama seems to become when we play Oklahoma. For some reason Alabama steps onto the field with Oklahoma and we become Ole Miss. Between 2003-2014 Oklahoma has beaten Alabama 3-0. I doubt any other team has a record like that.

NOTRE DAME vs. MIAMI
THE CASE FOR NOTRE DAME:
Manti Teo’s girlfriend may not be real, but my hate of Notre Dame is very real. I think for me it was the “Catholics and Cousins” nonsense. The fact that those lucky Domers actually thought they had a prayer against Alabama.
I think the Notre Dame arogance is why we hate them so much… sure Alabama fans are arrogant too, but we have the wins to back it up.
THE CASE FOR MIAMI:
It’s been a long time since Miami was a team we Alabama fans really had to contend with. At this point I’d say Miami is about as relevant as Georgia Tech or Southern Miss, maybe less relevant than Southern Miss, but don’t tell them that.
Miami is still all about the swagger, all ten fans who show up to Miami home games just can’t shut up about it.
