#5 The Bama Excuse

I have saved the dumbest reasoning for last.  This excuse is based on the fact that Derrick Henry played at Alabama… seriously.

“Derrick Henry just has those yards because he played at Alabama.”

So you’re saying that Derrick Henry is only good because he’s a product of Alabama’s system.  So? Yes Alabama has a fantastic system and it makes players look good, win awards, and get big NFL contracts.  How does any of this have anything to do with the Heisman trophy?

“Derrick Henry only has those yards because of his 0-line.”

Again so? This is so dumb that it hurts.  Yes Alabama has a good o-line, they help running backs reach their full potential. How does that have anything to do with whether Derrick Henry should win the Heisman?

Basically all this excuse is to me is a list of reasons why recruits should pick Alabama over other lesser programs.  Pick Alabama if you want to win big as a team, win individual awards, and get a big NFL contract!

The good news is that none of these excuses will matter in the end probably, we think Derrick Henry is going to win the Heisman Trophy this year.  Feel free to share this post with any Alabama hating troglodyte you find though to shut them down and Roll Tide!
