Alabama Football: Touchdown Minus 188 Days And Counting…

Alabama Football is like the whole world waiting on Touchdown on July 24, 1969. The Alabama Football  Nation waits for a New Touchdown…

In July of 1969 Neal Armstrong made the most famous “Touchdown” of all time. Just like then the Bama Nation awaits the First Tide Touchdown of 2017. Just like Armstrong took the first step on the moon-the Tide will try to take their first step towards another National Championship on September 2, 2017, against Florida St. This game, no matter the winner, could be a preview of the 2018 Championship Playoffs.

You may say that’s absurd to even mention these events in the same text. That’s probably true, but in Alabama Football is a way of life. Whether you believe it or not it’s own the mind of the Bama Nation 365 days a year.

After the season ends we look to the playoffs and hopefully another championship. We next focus on Recruiting and follow getting the best players in the nation to Alabama for the 7th straight recruiting title. Then our sights are set for Spring Practice eagerly awaiting the Spring Game on April 22. What new players will emerge? What does the starting lineup look like? Will any elite Freshmen make an impact?

More from Bama Hammer

After the Spring Game, it’s almost 4 months till Fall Practice. There are other things going on in the Spring. Basketball goes through March for some teams, Baseball & Softball have good crowds and have had success. Then there’s Golf and Tennis-well it is golf and tennis.

That’s why Denny Stadium is filled with over 100,000 fans every home game – Football is King in Alabama. These other sports just entertain us till the real season begins.

We know who made the first touchdown on the moon. Who do you think will make the first touchdown for the Tide in 2017? Will it be Scarborough, maybe Hurts or Ridley? How about the Tight End Forristall or last year’s freshman star Diggs. Could it be possibly one of the new freshman Najee Harris or Jerry Juedy? Could it even be a defensive TD-that happens a lot at Alabama.

So think about the above for awhile. It will take your mind off of September 2, 2017. Until then the Countdown continues-Touchdown Minus 188, 187, 186 and Counting.
