Four Coaches – Each with Four Losses to Alabama Football – All Rising WOAT’s, and all Ranked No. 13 on the Losses to Alabama Charts

Bret Bielema Arkansas (2013-2016)

Butch Jones –  Tennessee (2013-2016)

Ed Orgeron – Ole Miss and LSU (2005-2007 and 2016)

Kevin Sumlin – Texas A&M (2012-2016)

These four coaches are three losses to the Tide away from our WOAT Top Ten. All of them must face Alabama Football at least once every season. Are any of them likely to have much success against Alabama during the remainder of Nick Saban’s coaching career? How tolerant will their employers be with future losses to Alabama Football?

Good questions without sure answers. Maybe Vegas can place odds on the first of these coaches to reach seven losses to the Tide.

Until then, let’s consider the status of each coach and their tenure at their respective schools. Every program in the SEC desires to win a Conference Championship. Some desire it more than others, meaning at some schools not winning a SEC Championship is harder on a coach’s survival.

Two of those “harder” places for survival are Tennessee and LSU. Butch Jones must win soon. Without beating Alabama or winning a SEC Championship, Butch Jones may never see 2018 in Knoxville.

Unless he is foolish enough to make his next coaching stop a school on future Tide schedules, he will not make our WOAT Top Ten.

Kevin Sumlin must deliver soon in College Station. He could survive with more losses to the Tide, only if he pretty much beats everyone else in the SEC West. Short of a win against Alabama, Sumlin needs a win against the Longhorns for his longevity. So far, the Longhorns are not willing to play the Aggies.

Ed Orgeron will probably be given three full seasons at LSU. In three seasons and three more losses to Alabama Football, Coach O makes the WOAT Top Ten with seven losses to the Tide.

If Bret Bielema can win nine or ten games every season, he can survive in Fayetteville while still losing to the Tide.

Let’s give Bielema and Coach O the best chances to reach our WOAT Top Ten with three more losses to Alabama Football.
