Alabama Football Recruiting

With another Alabama football camp coming up and the Champions Cookout on July 21, football recruiting is heating up.

Per the tweet below, Tampa, FL CB, Ken Montgomery is no longer considering Arkansas. The Hogs were believed the clear leader for Montgomery. Insiders say Montgomery must perform well at the upcoming Alabama football camp to earn a committable offer.

Despite his 3-Star rating, Montgomery has 40 offers listed by 247 Sports. No chatter on what happened between Arkansas and Montgomery.

Alabama football commit, 4-Star Quay Walker has announced plans to visit Auburn, LSU, South Carolina and Florida State this summer. The outside linebacker may have this travel blessed by the Alabama football staff or it may be a “you shop, we shop” situation.

Alabama football commit, punter Skyler Delong has been invited to the U.S. Army All-American game.

Alabama Basketball Recruiting

As we reported last week in Avery Johnson’s Top 2018 Prospects, Will Richardson is a top priority for Alabama basketball. Richardson is a shooting guard with enough skills to be a combo guard. Many college basketball experts believe Richardson will be a good replacement for a one-and-done Collin Sexton.

Dan McDonald of Rivals.com reported Richardson will visit Alabama before reducing his list to five schools. Richardson had this to say,

"“Yasir Rosemond was the one recruiting me at Georgia and he stayed on me at Alabama. They have a good coaching staff. I’ve talked to coach Avery [Johnson] a few times. It’s a pretty cool staff. That’s going to be one of the visits I take after July.”"

McDonald also stated Ohio State is in a strong position with Richardson. Others in the mix are Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida and Auburn.
