3. Schedule Sets Up Favorably for Another Run

Alabama will face the Louisville Cardinals in the season opener. The Cardinals lost Heisman Award winner junior quarterback Lamar Jackson, who would have given the Tide’s defense fits reminiscent of another Heisman winner, Johnny Manziel.

Afterward, Alabama football will travel to Oxford to face Ole Miss who will be minus quarterback Shea Patterson. The last visit to Oxford, the Tide had to overcome a three-touchdown deficit.  Next, Texas A&M has Jimbo Fisher at the helm but are not ready to challenge Alabama just yet.

The most robust game on the schedule appears to be the game against LSU in Death Valley.  Head coach Ed Orgeron will have the Tigers ready to play, but they will prove not to be worthy opponents.  Later, the Crimson Tide play Auburn at home and will show that last year’s win was a fluke.

In the SEC championship, Alabama will face a depleted Georgia team that lost 17 seniors, and two NFL declared juniors from the past season.  Georgia head coach Kirby Smart is starting “Alabama 2.0” in Athens, but they will have to wait another year to attempt to beat Alabama.
