2. Momentum

After the damaging 26-14 loss to Auburn, Alabama almost did not participate in last year’s College Football Playoff. Before the Auburn loss, the team had struggled with LSU and Mississippi State due injuries pillaging the defense. The offense struggled as defenses played eight and nine-man fronts, forcing Jalen Hurts to pass the ball, and he struggled to complete passes steadily.

Once the CFP committee voted Alabama into the big dance, the Tide showed the world it belonged. Against number one seed Clemson, the defense had one mission, seek and destroy. The Tide’s defense was downright repulsive as they held sophomore sensation quarterback Kelly Bryant to 143 yards of total offense in the win.

Next up, was the championship game against Georgia. The Tide was in a hard-hitting battle with the Bulldogs 13-0.  Nick Saban injected Tua Tagovailoa in the second half, and it energized the entire team. Riding momentum stimulated by Tua, the Tide rallied to the 26-23 overtime win.

The Crimson Tide will ride that momentum into this season proving to the naysayers that the Tide has not fallen off. The Tide are ready to roll over any opponent in their pursuit for another championship.
