Best dog names for Alabama Crimson Tide fans: Football player edition (pt. 2)
These names are a little more recent. Some are still on the football team. Let’s get things started with one of the more obvious names.
35. Tua
Tua was bound to make this list. He probably has kids, cars, and pets named after him all across the country. Go get your pup a little Miami Dolphins jersey and call it a day.
36. Minkah
Minkah was on the short list of names we had for our dog. If we had chosen a boy, we would have definitely named him Minkah. Fitzpatrick is a stand-up guy with a good work ethic and tremendous versatility. None of those things matter when choosing a dog name, but they’re still worth mentioning.
37. Jalen
It might feel weird to name your dog after a quarterback who transferred, but Jalen will always be an Alabama graduate. He’s one of us. If you like the name, go for it. If people judge you for the name, just add a Y in there and tell them your dog is named after Jaylen Waddle.
38. Jeudy
This name works for a boy or girl dog, but you’ll have to get creative with your spelling. Some might think you’re naming your dog after the infamous television judge. That would also be a great namesake for your pup, but she has no ties to the Alabama Crimson Tide.
39. Ruggs
Ruggs sounds like a name for a rottweiler or a scary pit bull. Henry Ruggs isn’t that scary, but he will always be a fan favorite. If he’s your favorite player, then name your pup after him. Maybe he’ll volunteer to race your dog some time.
40. Smitty
Devonta Smith is still an Alabama football player, so he has even more time to break records. Naming your dog Devonta or Smith doesn’t sound just right, so you can always go with his nickname.
41. Najee
Najee Harris has agilities like a cat, but his name would be great for a dog. It won’t make much sense unless your friends know how much you love the Tide.
42. Mac
Mac Jones might end up transferring before his college career is done, but he’s fun to root for. He has the charisma of AJ McCarron. Let’s just hope that he has the winning success of McCarron as well.
43. Bryce
Is it a bit risky to name your dog after a quarterback who hasn’t taken a single snap for the Alabama Crimson Tide? Yes. However, Bryce Young is a great prospect, and Bryce is a great name in general.
