Alabama football fans have been waiting and now know 20K is Bryant-Denny attendance limit this fall.

Alabama football fans, we have a number. It is not a number anyone wanted but is better than the number zero. Alabama football announced Tuesday, Bryant-Denny attendance at fall football games will be limited to 20 percent of capacity. Instead of 101-thousand crowding in for a beat-down of Georgia, just 20,000 fans will be allowed.

Emails went out to Tide Pride members on Tuesday. Some Tide Pride members with two season tickets may still get a pair. Other Tide Pride members will be short of tickets. For example, a season ticket holder with four or six seats may only request two tickets.

After a to-be-released, student ticket allotment, there is no guarantee every Tide Pride member will be able to buy tickets. Final allocations will be made in relation to Tide Pride Priority Points.

There are many other changes for the 2020 season. A complete list of the details is available here.

Going along with 20 percent capacity, no tailgating will be allowed on campus. As we reported earlier, no paper tickets will be used. Mobile tickets will be issued by email and will be scanned with touchless entry. Fans without smartphones can contact the Alabama Football Ticket Office. Parking passes will also be issued electronically.

Selling tickets on Stub-Hub can still be done. Also, ticket holders may electronically transfer their tickets to friends. Fans must have a  “CLEARED GuideSafe™ Event Passport” to enter Bryant-Denny. The Passport is a COVID screening protocol and can be issued to fans as far as 48 hours in advance of games. There will also be stations outside Bryant-Denny for fans to be screened and obtain a Passport.

Even mask-haters will be required to ‘mask up’ to gain admittance. Anyone arriving at the stadium without a mask will be given a disposable one.

Plexiglass will separate most stadium workers from fans. All stadium workers will wear “a face mask and/or a face shield.”

Social distancing will be monitored with markings and signage. Gate location assignments will be changed for the 2020 season. Many dispensers of hand sanitizer will be available. Cooling fans and water monsters will not be used.

Next. Nick Saban is not happy with students avoiding masks. dark

The plan is reasonable given the risk to large groups of people. Not every Alabama football will be pleased, but they will be made as safe as possible.
