Alabama Football Offensive Depth Chart – Running Backs

  • StarterNajee Harris
  • RB2 – Brian Robinson
  • RB3 – Trey Sanders
  • RB4 – Roydell Williams

The Alabama Crimson Tide has the deepest running back roster in college football. Barring injury, getting other than mop-up snaps, for more than four backs is impossible. All Crimson Tide fans know the value of Najee. Not to the extent of Derrick Henry, but Najee will get a load of carries and catches. Brian Robinson has been impressive in camp and should have a strong season. Trey Sanders is a budding superstar. Roydell Williams is closer to the other three than most Crimson Tide fans realize.

Alabama Football Offensive Depth Chart – Wide Receivers

  • StarterDevonta Smith
  • StarterJaylen Waddle
  • StarterJohn Metchie
  • StarterSlade Bolden or Javon Baker
  • In Rotation – Xavier Williams and Traeshon Holden or Thaiu Jones-Bell

Javon Baker has created the most buzz among the first and second-year Crimson Tide receivers. Like Trey Sanders, he is a future Alabama football offensive star. Slade Bolden’s experience gives him an edge. Bolden has NFL-quality route-running skills and good hands. Baker’s advantage is size and speed, also with good hands. Baker is also more of a deep threat than Metchie.

Alabama football fans should not be surprised if Jahleel Billingsley and perhaps Carl Tucker, line up wide in four-receiver sets.

The unknown about the two position groups is how much Steve Sarkisian will shape the Tide offense. Less RPO and more power-running is expected. Sark might use some two-back sets more frequently. If so, blocking abilities will factor heavily into wide receiver game snaps.
