3 keys for Alabama football to dominate vs. Texas A&M
Alabama must keep Kellen Mond uncomfortable
It feels like Kellen Mond has been Texas A&M’s quarterback for the past decade. The man has experience playing against Alabama, but he hasn’t had a ton of success. In order to limit what he can do as a quarterback, Alabama must keep him out of rhythm.
Mond is not the best quarterback when things break down. If he lacks a clean pocket for most of the game, he will scramble and make mistakes through the air. This will give Alabama football plenty of opportunities to force turnovers and turn the Tide.
The issue with this plan is that Kellen Mond is more than capable of using his legs to make plays. While you try to destroy the pocket, you have to keep Mond from breaking free. The good news for Alabama is that they have plenty of athletic players in the front seven to minimize this risk. Dylan Moses will be ready to pursue Mond on any scramble.
The key here is to keep the Aggie offense from sticking to their game plan. Many teams are able to succeed when things go wrong. Texas A&M is not one of those teams, so it will be worth watching if the Tide’s line can get some pressure.
This game is an opportunity for Alabama football to make a statement. If they do these three things, a statement will definitely be made.
