Alabama football had some early struggles vs. the Ole Miss Rebels.

We all knew that Alabama football was going to be in a dog fight vs. the Ole Miss Rebels. The first half really worried some fans, but the Crimson Tide improved slightly in the second half. It came down to the wire, but Alabama thankfully managed to snuff out a win against Lane Kiffin’s Rebels.

Alabama will immediately be looking ahead to their next performance against the Georgia Bulldogs, but let’s first grade their performance against Ole Miss. Almost everything went right on offense, but the defense was dreadful. They could not stop Kiffin’s offense if their lives depended on it. If it weren’t for a few mental errors by Ole Miss, Alabama could have easily lost this game.

Let’s break down how each position group did in this struggle win.

Offensive Line: C

It’s the same story for the offensive line with Alabama football. Pre-snap penalties hurt the Crimson Tide tremendously. However, they gave the running backs plenty of room to work with and kept Mac Jones upright. The series of false starts late in the game almost kept Alabama from scoring, but they recovered.

The reason I still went with a C is because of the botched snap late in the game. If Alabama loses the ball there, they could have easily lost the game. You have to be smarter with the snap and avoid careless mistakes. These errors are not a continuing occurrence, but they are crucial whenever they happen. If Alabama has a turnover over a mental mistake against Georgia, they could easily lose the game.
