Alabama football’s report card vs. Mississippi State

Inside Linebackers: B+

Let’s be honest. Alabama football was happy when they realized that heard that Kylin Hill was opting out of the rest of the season. That made the inside linebackers’ jobs easier, and they certainly played well.

Dylan Moses and Christian Harris rarely blitzed in this game. They mostly remained in coverage, which is where they have struggled in the past. However, they played well against these receivers. They also covered the running backs relatively well. There were only a few mental lapses, which is certainly an improvement.

Dylan Moses also had an interception in the end zone, but it basically fell into his hands. He made a bad choice by taking the ball out, but I don’t blame him for trying to do something with the ball in his hands.

Outside Linebackers: A-

The outside linebackers played really well. The key was pressure without sending extra rushers, and they did so. Chris Allen got a sack, and Will Anderson made multiple plays in the backfield. They were great without the need for extra rushers.

Will Anderson still has a lot of growing up to do, but this was a step in the right direction. He should be proud of how he played in this game. It will only be a matter of time until he is consistently in the quarterback’s face.
