Ranking Alabama football’s potential CFP opponents

1. Texas A&M Aggies

There are a few reasons why Alabama would love to play against Texas A&M in the College Football Playoff. For starters, they have already beaten the Aggies this season. There is no reason to believe that Texas A&M will suddenly be able to beat Alabama after losing earlier in the year. No amount of injuries and confidence can swing the talent gap between these two teams.

Also, it would get good to have two SEC West teams in the College Football Playoff. Alabama football would know exactly what to expect from their opponent. If they play a team like Oregon or BYU, it will be harder to prepare for how they will approach the game.

Kellen Mond has gotten better this season, but he cannot singlehandedly beat the Alabama defense. There is also no reason to believe that Jimbo Fisher can outcoach Nick Saban. He has had multiple chances to do so, and he has never gotten close.

We have learned a lot over the year, but one thing has remained certain. Alabama will almost certainly make it to the CFP.

Alabama will be ready to face any team in the College Football Playoff. That being said, this would be the best-case scenario for them. We’ll have to wait to see how the rest of the season goes. No matter who Alabama plays, it will be fun to hopefully see them back in the CFP at the end of the year.
