Alabama football’s studs and duds vs. Arkansas

Stud: Alabama’s defensive line

This defensive line has stepped up in recent weeks, but this was easily their best game of the season. Alabama was consistently in the Arkansas backfield, and they cleaned up when they got there. Between the defensive line and the outside linebackers, the Crimson Tide dominated this game with sacks and forced fumbles.

Christian Barmore is a force to be reckoned with. He cannot be stopped for an entire game. He is one of the best interior pass rushers that Alabama has seen in the Saban era, and that is why he leads the team in sacks.

Byron Young has been incredibly solid during his reps, but he showed great effort in this game. Even when the team made mistakes, he ran towards the ball and tried to make a play. Overall, this defensive performance was one of many takeaways from this game.

Stud: Offensive line

Honestly, Alabama football dominated this game in the trenches on both sides of the ball. While the running game struggled early, that was mostly due to field conditions. The offensive line continued to get space between the tackles during this game, and it was obvious in the red zone.

The best part about this performance is the continuity shown from the line. They were without their right tackle for the whole game, and their center missed a few plays. Even with the new faces, this line communicated and worked incredibly well together. They should be a lock to win the Joe Moore Award.
