With Alabama football ready for the Rose Bowl, here are some hot takes

The majority of sports enthusiasts do not expect this game to be close, but I certainly think it warrants enough attention to see a possible upset. Here are hot takes for Alabama football vs. Notre Dame on New Year’s Day.

1. Mac Jones throws for 3 touchdowns… In the 1st quarter

This might not even be the hottest take, but even for Mac Jones, this is a solid thing. Alabama has an offense that is so balanced, especially when it’s near the goal line, that it would certainly be interesting to see if Steve Sarkisian draws something up for Jones early on. Also given the fact that Mac Jones has improved his deep ball so much, let’s not forget about a classic play-action pass that could benefit the Crimson Tide right from the start.

2. Notre Dame runs for 250+ yards

Notre Dame has a solid quarterback in Ian Book, but their success will come on the ground tomorrow afternoon. The Fighting Irish rank 19th in rushing yards per game with nearly 218 yards per game. Considering the struggles Alabama’s rush defense has had this year, this could definitely be the case. Running back Kyren Williams has rushed for over 1,000 yards. When you combine that with the legs of Chris Tyree and Ian Book, Notre Dame could easily be right at 250 rushing yards against Alabama football. This won’t make Alabama fans happy, but it won’t be enough to keep the Tide from winning this game.
