Other candidates to be Alabama football’s offensive coordinator

Jeff Lebby, Ole Miss OC

Alabama had a lot of success with Lane Kiffin as their offensive coordinator. He is one of the best minds in the game, and he adds a lot of creativity to an offense. Now that he is the head coach of the Ole Miss Rebels, there is no way that he will ever come back and coach for Tuscaloosa. If that is the case, the logical thing to do would be to steal his offensive coordinator.

Lebby deserves credit for Ole Miss’s offensive success. He plays a big role in their preparation. It would be unfair to give all of the credit to Kiffin. After all, Kiffin must trust him with the offense if he hired him in the first place.

This is similar to teams poaching defensive coordinators from the Alabama football staff. If you can’t take the master, take their star pupil. For Kiffin, that would be Lebby.

Jeff Lebby was a candidate for the Broyles Award before Sarkisian won it. He is obviously respected in the coaching community, and he could easily get an interview with Nick Saban.

It might be unlikely for Nick Saban to hire someone outside of his coaching tree. If he does, this would be a top candidate.
