Najee Harris was all smiles after Alabama football’s win

We just witnessed Alabama football dismantle the Ohio State Buckeyes and with their sixth national championship of the Nick Saban era. Plenty of things went right for the Crimson Tide, but there were some laughs along the way for Najee Harris.

In the postgame press conference, a reporter asked him how he made it look easy against the Ohio State front. I would just attach his quote, but the words alone don’t do Harris justice.

After joking about how tough it was to face Ohio State, Najee went into detail about how they tried to stop the run. You could tell that they were hoping to lock up receivers on the outside without extra defenders. This was to commit players to the box, and it worked to some extent. He didn’t have a carry longer than 13 yards all night, and he had just as many receiving yards as rushing yards. However, he ended the day with 158 yards from scrimmage and 3 total touchdowns.

It was obvious that Ohio State was worried about stopping Najee Harris, and they only slightly slowed him down. With so many players committed to stopping the run, Mac Jones and the passing attack dominated for four quarters.

This isn’t Najee’s first time giving insightful quotes during an interview. Earlier this season, he detailed the hardships he faced while battling homelessness in high school. He overcame a lot just to play for Alabama football, and his journey isn’t over yet.

Najee will almost certainly head to the NFL Draft, and he will make an NFL team very happy. He is a complete back, and he will have an impact on his first day in an NFL jersey.

As he wrapped up his comments, Najee Harris said, “I am hurting.” While playing in the National Championship was surely painful, I’m sure Harris would do it all again to achieve greatness with this team.
