Ideal NFL fits for Alabama football’s Mac Jones

5. Atlanta Falcons

There is a lot that makes the Falcons a desirable landing spot for Mac Jones. For starters, a lot of Alabama football fans are Falcons fans. He would have overwhelming support from the fan base. On the field, he would be throwing to Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley. The Alabama connection would be stellar.

Also, the Falcons draft fourth overall. While this doesn’t impact fit, it would at least help line Jones’s pockets. He would likely be QB3 if he is drafted by the Falcons, which comes with a nice paycheck.

The best piece of this would be learning behind Matt Ryan. That would give him a great mentor as he preps to be the franchise quarterback.

However, there are some issues that come with this landing spot. Atlanta has been a dumpster fire in recent years. Their new head coach is unproven. While Arthur Smith was a trendy candidate, he still has to prove that he is ready to be a head coach. The NFC South is also a tough division with no bad teams, so it might be a while before the Falcons are ready to make the NFL Playoffs.

While plenty of Alabama football fans will be hoping that the Falcons draft Mac Jones, he should be hoping for a better situation.
