Worst NFL landing spots for Alabama football’s Najee Harris

1. New York Jets

If you are a quality Alabama football player, it’s safe to assume that the New York Jets aren’t a good fit. The Jets only have a few building blocks for the future, but they will fail for the next few seasons. Without trading for Deshaun Watson, the best-case scenario for the Jets is being somewhat competitive in three years.

New York’s leading rusher in 2020 is 37 years old. Clearly, they need a new RB1. They have some depth, but using Gore over them last year proved that they have no faith in their development. If you can’t play them in 2020, when will they contribute?

With that in mind, expect New York to draft a running back in the 2021 NFL Draft. With their second pick in the first round, they might take Najee Harris. That would put him on the same team as former Alabama football DT Quinnen Williams. Outside of that friendship, nothing is attractive about this landing spot.

It doesn’t matter what New York does at quarterback. If they draft a new quarterback or stick with Sam Darnold, they will struggle for the next few seasons. This would also put Harris against three of the best-coached defenses in the AFC. All of the pressure will be on Najee Harris, and it would be terrible to put that much pressure on Harris as a rookie.

Alabama football fans will want Harris to join their team, but these would be the worst situations for him.
