Another Alabama football receiver off the board

11. New York Giants: Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama

This would be a great scenario for the New York Giants. Due to the love of quarterbacks, one of the best players in the 2021 NFL Draft falls out of the top five. Thankfully, the Giants need a receiver, and Waddle’s slide ends here.

It appears that New York is determined to stick it out with Daniel Jones. If that is the plan, they need to build around him to truly evaluate him. Before long, it will be time to make a long-term decision on Jones. They drafted an offensive tackle in the first round last year, so adding a receiver would make it clear what the problems on offense truly are.

Waddle has the speed that every NFL team is looking for. He is more aggressive than most receivers despite his lack of size, and his agility makes it hard for any defensive back to stay in stride.

While Waddle is coming off of an ankle injury, he should be ready to go for the NFL season. Not only is he an elite receiver, but he can impact special teams in New York if given the chance.

To put it bluntly, only a small handful of humans can do what Waddle does. Drafting him 11th overall when you need a wide receiver is a no-brainer for the New York Giants.
