Alabama football’s QB1 is making moves

With NIL laws in effect, athletes have more options than ever. Montana Fouts is killing it on Cameo. Malachi Moore has done ads for Milo’s. Alabama football’s Bryce Young is already approaching $1 million, and he has another huge announcement in this arena.

Young will have his very own podcast this season. It will simply be called “The Bryce Young Podcast” and will be a part of “The Volume Sports” network. This network is Colin Cowherd’s creation and has a variety of sports shows that are on radio and podcast platforms. They have added college football shows to the rotation, but this will be an exclusive outlet for Young to discuss games and his performance.

This is uncharted waters for Alabama football. In the past, players rarely had opportunities to speak to the media. If they did, it was in a controlled environment for a limited amount of time. Now, Young will provide content every week regarding his play and what it’s like being the starting quarterback for the Crimson Tide.

Former Alabama football players have made podcasts. Mark Ingram has one with a former Ravens teammate. Others have been guests on plenty of shows and podcasts. However, that was before the NIL laws were in place.

Now, college athletes can earn money from sponsorships and podcasts. Young will be paid to create this content every week, and it will likely be a significant sum of money. After all, Young is already making bank.

This will be seen as a test for future athletes. How profitable can players be while they are in college? Will it be enough to determine when they declare for the NFL Draft? How will it impact team culture and the play on the field?

Next. What really matters vs. Mercer. dark

These questions will need time to be answered correctly, but the outcome of Young’s play will play a role in answering them. If he can win a Heisman while carrying Alabama football to the championship game and making millions, it should not be a concern for others who want to succeed while making money.
