SEC Football – West Division

The Alabama Crimson Tide’s best will be treated differently in this post. One reason for making the distinction is the Crimson Tide has the two best players in college football. All Alabama fans will agree. The problem is whether ‘the best’ is Bryce Young or Will Anderson Jr. I can’t decide and instead call it a dead heat.

  • Arkansas Razorbacks – The Razorbacks have high-level talent across the roster. A good pick would be safety Jalen Catalon. Former Alabama Crimson Tide player, Drew Sanders might become a superstar for Sam Pittman. But, picking the best Hog is easy. It is QB, KJ Jefferson. Jefferson might the best throw and run guy in the SEC.
  • Auburn Tigers – The easy pick here is junior, RB, Tank Bigsby who will produce big numbers if the Tigers have improved their run blocking. If they have not, he may not stay healthy. The runner-up is defensive end, Derick Hall.
  • LSU Bengal Tigers – A no-brainer choice is WR, Kayshon Boutte, only dependent upon an accurate QB, TBD. For runner-up, defender Ali Gaye is edged out by another LSU defender, BJ Ojulari.
  • Mississippi State – With Mike Leach as the coach, the choice must be a quarterback. QB, Will Rogers fits the bill nicely. Rogers threw for almost 4,800 yards last season. He might surpass that in 2022. The runner-up is CB, Emmanuel Forbes.
  • Ole Miss Rebels – A rebuilt Ole Miss offense might find its best player in QB, Jaxson Dart. Instead, the pick is running back, Zach Evans. The runner-up is LB, Troy Brown.
  • Texas A&M Aggies – With questions at quarterback, the Aggies’ best player will likely have to be RB, Devon Achane. In his two seasons, he has rushed for a 7.4 yards-per-carry average. The runner-up is CB, Jaylon Jones.
